Solo advice is a conditional editorial recommendation for Point of Contact on Regular without relics, not an official class ranking or claimed solo test.
From my notes. The abilities below follow IGN’s Extinction Class guide. My recommendation is an inference from the documented bonuses: Weapon Specialist is my solo default for consistent damage; Medic is my safety alternative when recovery is the main concern. Map, difficulty, unlocked options and relics can change the choice.
Compare the four classes
Weapon Specialist (default class): starts with +20% bullet damage; later skill upgrades improve handling and add another listed damage increase. My solo default because direct damage assists every hive encounter.
Tank (unlock at rank 3): starts with +25% health. Its upgrades specialize further in health and melee. I would choose it for a deliberately forgiving close-range run, not for its melee bonus as a universal damage solution.
Engineer (unlock at rank 5): improves drill protection and earns bonus cash. I would choose it on a run where keeping the drill intact or funding purchases is the main concern; those benefits are less direct for a solo damage plan.
Medic (unlock at rank 10): revives allies faster and has movement, revive protection and team-health upgrades. My solo safety alternative when survival and recovery outweigh Specialist’s damage; revive bonuses have less value when there are no teammates.
Editorial solo setup: Point of Contact / Regular / no relics
Class: Weapon Specialist. Pistol: P226 as the familiar starting all-rounder; choose MP-443 Grach instead if already unlocked and you prefer automatic fire. Ammo: Armor Piercing to address armored Cryptids. Team Support: Armor. Strike Package: Sentry Gun. Equalizer: Crowd Control. This is a suggested six-slot selection, not a report of a completed run.
Progression: take affordable Weapon Specialist handling upgrades early, then the damage upgrade; invest in ammo and Armor as the run demands. Add Sentry Gun capability when Skill Points permit. The exact order is an editorial resource-priority suggestion, not a fixed optimal build. Preserve match cash for ammunition, armor and the next objective.
When I would change it
Choose Medic instead if the objective is a cautious survival attempt and healing/recovery is more important than Specialist damage. Choose Engineer when the drill or spending economy is the specific bottleneck. Choose Tank when extra health is the intended safety net.
Hardcore, relics, later Extinction maps and unlocked upgrades change risk and resource value. This page does not claim that one class wins every map or difficulty. Permanent Teeth upgrades are purchased in the Armory; they are not the temporary Skill Points earned during a match.
My editorial default is Weapon Specialist on Point of Contact Regular without relics; Medic is my survival-oriented alternative. This is not an official or universally tested best class.
What is the solo loadout?
Weapon Specialist, P226, Armor Piercing Ammo, Armor, Sentry Gun and Crowd Control are my suggested six category choices; unlock availability may vary.
Are Extinction Skill Points the same as Teeth?
No. Skill Points upgrade the current match loadout; Teeth buy permanent Armory upgrades.
Why is Medic not automatically best solo?
Its documented revive benefits principally help teammates. Its healing and movement upgrades may still make it a reasonable solo safety preference.
