Call of Duty: Ghosts 2 status
No official sequel. The 2013 campaign ends on a cliffhanger, and a cliffhanger is not an announcement.
From my notes. I checked the official Ghosts page and the Modern Warfare 4 page on 23 October 2026. The first is still the 2013 game. The second is a Modern Warfare reboot title with a Ghost operator skin. Nothing on either page says Ghosts 2 is in development. I am not going to upgrade a rumor into a date.
How to read a claim
Confirmed would mean Activision or Infinity Ward said it. I do not have that sentence. Reported would mean a named outlet quoted a source. Speculative is everything else, including "the next game should be Ghosts" posts.
Modern Warfare 4 is advertised with a 23 October 2026 release date and separate platform listings. The official page still uses pre-order wording, so that date alone does not prove the game is live on every platform. It continues the reboot timeline, not Logan Walker's story.
Why people keep asking
The campaign ending leaves Logan alive and captive, and Rorke alive. Readers treat that as a promise. The sales note from Wikipedia, more than 19 million copies with a softer comparison to Black Ops II, is context for why a sequel may not have been commissioned. It is not proof of a cancellation memo I have not read.
If a real announcement appears, this page should change and the date at the bottom should change with it. Until then the status is: not announced.
