MODERN WARFARE

Simon "Ghost" Riley

British SAS and Task Force 141. The original character dies in Modern Warfare 2 (2009); the reboot has a separate story and fate.

From my notes. Credit check: Craig Fairbrass voices the original 2009 Ghost. Jeff Leach voices the Modern Warfare (2019) / Warzone operator released in 2020. Samuel Roukin plays Ghost in Modern Warfare II and III; the community wiki also credits him for MW4. A mention in the 2019 campaign is not the same as a voiced campaign appearance.

The two timelines

The original Simon Riley is a supporting squad member killed by Shepherd in Loose Ends. The reboot version is a playable protagonist in selected MWII and MWIII missions. The MW4 community wiki gives his status as Unknown; a marketed operator skin does not establish his campaign fate.

Call of Duty: Ghosts (2013) only included him as a preorder Classic Ghost custom soldier. He is not Logan's squad. The dog in that game is also named Riley. Ghost vs Ghosts separates the three.
