OPINION // 6V6
Ghosts maps ranked
All 14 launch maps, ordered for our preferred public 6v6 experience. This is an editorial ranking, not a poll, official order or universal verdict.
From my notes. I rank for general public 6v6: readable routes, time-to-contact, useful close/mid-range options and how punishing rotations feel. This is my opinion informed by the documented map descriptions and tips, not a synthesis of unverified Reddit consensus. A sniper-focused player or a different objective mode may rank the large maps higher.
Complete 14-map editorial ranking
| Rank | Map | Our editorial reason (6v6) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Strikezone | A compact stadium setting and fast action make it my strongest default for 6v6 flow. I rank the quick engagement loop above its potential spawn-flow frustration. |
| 2 | Warhawk | A readable main street plus back alleys gives a clear mid-range route and flank choice. The exposed center makes positioning matter. |
| 3 | Freight | Four central warehouses create a legible contest area and meaningful door control in objective modes. The rail-car divide makes rotations understandable. |
| 4 | Tremor | Narrow alleys produce close fights and a defined SMG route. Crater-side layout and shaking ground add character without changing my preference for clear lanes. |
| 5 | Octane | Buildings and open central/outer routes support both close and mid-range play. Breachable walls and the exploding gas station add variety, though the open center is a risk. |
| 6 | Prison Break | Central hill creates a clear point of contention, with an alternate tree bridge. Limited cover makes the center risky, keeping it below the more forgiving picks. |
| 7 | Sovereign | Long factory sightlines suit mid-range weapons, with lower perimeter routes for close builds. Suppressant gas and exposed upper levels add situational variation. |
| 8 | Overlord | The central two-storey building and adjustable shutters make a strong objective focal point. Sniper sightlines and corner traps make rotations less forgiving. |
| 9 | Chasm | Layered ruined streets and perimeter routes offer varied engagements, but the large, intricate layout and broken sightlines make it harder to read quickly. |
| 10 | Flooded | The ruined-dam setting gives the map a distinctive identity, but the retrieved guide provides less actionable lane detail than my higher picks; this is a lower-confidence editorial placement. |
| 11 | Siege | The sprawling oil complex offers perimeter buildings and multiple entrances, but those routes make it easy to be flanked and harder to keep a compact 6v6 fight. |
| 12 | Whiteout | Long snowy sightlines and a busy central cave give both ranged and objective play a focus. Its large footprint and visibility make rotations a bigger commitment. |
| 13 | Stormfront | Rain, tall grass and long sightlines give the map a strong ranged identity. For this 6v6 general-purpose ranking, the large layout and exposed main street weigh against it. |
| 14 | Stonehaven | The open ruined-castle layout is explicitly suited to long-distance engagements. That can serve snipers, but is my least preferred fit for a general 6v6 pace. |

Questions
What is the best Ghosts map?
My editorial pick for general public 6v6 is Strikezone, based on its fast engagement flow. This is a preference, not a community or official verdict.
Why rank Stonehaven last?
Its open layout is documented as suited to long-distance engagements; that role is a weaker fit for my general 6v6 criterion. Sniper-focused players may prefer it.
Are these community rankings?
No. The list is our explicit editorial ordering; Reddit and blocked TierMaker results are not presented as consensus.
Are DLC maps included?
No. This list ranks the 14 base maps only.
