Rules from the mode pages. Whether a mode is still in a public playlist in 2026 is not something Activision published in the sources I checked.
From my notes.Cranked is the one people ask about by name, so I put its timer first. Thirty seconds after a kill, bonuses to movement, reload and aiming, and you explode if the timer ends. First to 100. That is the Wikipedia and Fandom description, not a custom ruleset.
Objective modes
Blitz: reach the enemy portal. A score starts a 10-second cooldown. First to 16. Halftime at 5 minutes, sides change at 8 points.
Search and Rescue mixes Search and Destroy with dog tags that revive a teammate or deny a revive. Reinforce is Domination mixed with Search and Destroy: three flags, you spectate while dead, capturing revives you, first to 4. It joined core 6v6 on 30 May 2014.
The odd ones
Hunted starts you with a pistol and a throwing knife. Weapon drops arrive every 10 to 15 seconds with one magazine. First to 65 kills. Grind is a Kill Confirmed variant that only existed in private and local matches.
Drop Zone joined on 28 March 2014. Infected starts with one infected player. Safeguard is 1 to 4 players against AI for 20, 40 or 100 waves, and it is a Squads mode rather than a public 6v6 playlist. Gun Game was added later. I do not have a sourced date for that addition.
Questions
What is Cranked?
A kill starts a 30-second timer with movement and reload bonuses. The timer resets on another kill. If it hits zero, you explode. First to 100.
Is Grind public?
Fandom says Grind was private and local only.
Are these modes online in 2026?
I cannot say which public playlists still exist. Offline Squads modes are listed on the bots page.
