Mayday Extinction map
Advance from the Entrance through Cargo to the Top Deck, protect the gas pipes, then defeat the Kraken. Crafting components and optional doors are side objectives.
From my notes. The walkthrough flow below follows Digital Trends' Mayday tactical guide, published in 2014, and cross-checks map objectives against the Call of Duty Wiki. Crafting-part spawns are random; this guide does not invent a fixed crate route.
What changed
Follow the ship's three broad sections in order: Entrance, Cargo Area, then Top Deck. Drill and destroy the required hives to open the route, defending the drill during each wave. The two early side doors are optional; defer them until you have better weapons if cash is tight. Once the Cargo Area opens, explore its accessible rooms for schematics and components before gathering the team at the cargo crate, which commits the squad to the Top Deck.
Mayday's crafting loop: pick up a schematic, search toolboxes for its three parts, then hold the craft control in the Skills menu. For a Venom-X, find the Venom schematic plus the deactivated weapon and battery, then choose a Biolum for the variant. Components and Biolum colors spawn variably; retrieve the schematic from its room and search available toolboxes rather than following a made-up fixed box order.
On the Top Deck, clear the hives. Before destroying the final hive in the lab, open the back door and loot it: the guide warns it becomes inaccessible afterward. The next objective is to defend four chlorine pipes (two floor level, two on the catwalk) until the timer completes; if all four are destroyed, the run fails. Then move through the opened route to the final deck and prepare before dropping into the red-circle arena, which starts the Kraken encounter.
During the Kraken fight, use the red marked safe spots when its tentacles ignite the deck. Activate the corner turrets only when their status indicates the Kraken is attacking from the opposite side; assign a teammate to cover a player operating a remote turret. Aim at the illuminated forehead weak point while the boss is vulnerable, and keep Cryptids, armor and ammunition managed. Defeat the Kraken to complete Mayday.
